Overall description of capabilities

Project Timeline: 7/1/2006-6/30/2011

Sequoia Foundation worked closely with California’s Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Branch with the broad goal of reducing blood lead levels in children to as low as possible through continued implementation of the Branch’s strategic plan for lead elimination. These activities included maximizing lead screening in children, improving the quality of electronic laboratory reporting to identify children with elevated lead levels, and providing an ongoing assessment of the prevalence of lead poisoning overall as well as in specific communities.
