Health Impact Assessment (HIA)
A Health Impact Assessment (HIA) is an internationally recognized systemic process that joins community concerns, public input, health expertise, and scientific data to identify the potential health effects—both positive and negative—of a proposed law, regulation, project, or program prior to implementation. The resulting HIA provides recommendations on monitoring and managing these health effects, allowing communities and policymakers to formulate informed public health decisions. Sequoia Foundation employs qualified specialists to conduct HIAs and assist state and local government agencies in building capacity to integrate HIAs into their programs.
