Community Engagement
Sequoia approaches its work with the belief that change is more likely to be successful and durable when the people it affects are involved in its design and implementation. With this in mind, Sequoia utilizes methodologies of involvement, empowerment, capacity building, and coalition building. Central to all of Sequoia's activities is a participatory process that maximizes the program effectiveness while building capacity within communities. Our ethnically diverse team of educators and community engagement specialists reflect the diverse communities we work with, providing a breadth of cultural histories with over 120 years of collective professional experience working with communities of color.
